    Players from lower leagues.

I have never understood whey we have never used this market more often think we have missed so many tricks in recent years.

I see St Johnstone have signed a lad from Spartans who was linked to everyone so why not us?Ticks me off so much when i read stuff like this but really shines light on how bad things are at our club.

The lad was linked to Hibs and Hearts too. St Johnstone are far bigger club that us regarding finances. They can afford scouts.

Our playing budget will have been a bit above St Johnstone's and they won't be much different now. Many scouts are not paid employees but work on a commission basis.

I said a year an a half ago on this s1te we should sign Dougie Imrie when we could have got him for fpuck al. A suggestion that was generally met with "get tae fpuck Imries garbage" Sure hes a wee bstard but having watched him again last night cover every blade of grass (artificial) for the cause as hes done in every game I ever see him play I still think he'd have done a job for us. He rattles the opposition and never gives them a minutes piece exactly the kind of attribute we don't have anywhere in the team. There are tons of players like that out there in the lower leagues so anyone who says there aren't

They aren't actually their Scottish Cup win is financing much of this season. They have a lower fan base than us by quite some way. What they are is a better run club. I come more and more to the conclusion that we have been run p1ss poorly over the last 4 / 5 years to have made such an a@rse of being successful.

Frankly far too many signings are made on evidence given in videos by agents. The days of managers going round grounds and regularly watching someone themselves before they sign them are rare indeed. They rely on others and if you are an agent you are hardly going to give a manager a video evidence of all your clients shortcomings. That why big McLeish couldnt sign a decent player if his life depended on it he relied heavily on agents / scouts / friends who supplied evidence. A lazy bstard of a manager who always got found out.

During McCalls Legacy I recommended two players from the non-leagues in England, one a out and out winger who is faster than Ainsworth over 50 metres the other was a free scoring forward,I also gave contacts that had played with McCall and he could trust their assessments of both players.Neither suggestion was ever followed up,both the players would have cost next to nothing to sign and both still in their early twenties.:/

Whist thats true to an extent, St Johnstone made considerably less than £500,00 from the final. There was a furore with the SFA about how much that august body creamed off.

I'm sure our budget will be higher even now than what st johnstones is but ours is too high that why were always skint we need to spread our budget around more as certain players at motherwell on far too high a wage for us to sustain
