    Crowd at Blackburn

Forgot to mention earlier in the week but 5,928 was the crowd at Blackburn v Swansea last weekend FA Cup 4th Round. Disgraceful.

I think the prices were £20 for an adult and they thought it was overpriced. It is £15 for the fifth round if you have a season ticket so I think they have learned a bit. The problem with Blackburn's crowds is that they put the season tickets down to about £200 when they were in the premiership, and it did increase crowds, but now every game seems overpriced. The prices for us against Liverpool will put a lot off, I would love to only have to pay £20! Leagur games at Bolton are over priced, again against Wolves the cheapest ticket is £28.

It's a shame that clubs in the Championship just won't look long-term and realise that lower prices will bring the crowds back. The only time that we see lower prices for league games is when the two clubs come to an agreement for both their fixtures - as Bolton and Blackburn used to do before the Venkys turned up. That was great and used to guarantee near full houses for both fixtures

I've been saying that for years JJ there is no reason why the Championship can't have the same attendances as the Premiership but they will have to half the prices before that happens!

Yes I know but the chairmen of the clubs simply won't see that a few quid off Prem prices isn't going to bring the crowds in. Short-sighted greed!!!

With a full house at half price the turnover will be more JJ because of all the extra sales with drinks and food, programmes, betting, merchandise e.t.c.

Blackburn fans are entitled to come and go as they please. If they've got better things to spend £20 on, that's all there is to it.

Clubs obviously know they have to be careful with discounts. It's no good selling tickets for £10 if you ultimately wanna be selling them at £30 a match, because who wants to pay £30 for something they're used to getting for a tenner.

They also know that for some people, turning up to "support" your team is just price inelastic. In other words, people will always buy tickets regardless of price and quality...out of a misguided sense of loyalty, in my opinion.
