    West Ham sold out

10th consecutive sell out. 31,241. Not bad for a midweek game.

A lot of empty seats for a sell out.

Forget it, we had a few hundred left for a live TV game one Sunday afternoon.

People who can afford it buying season tickets, even if they can't make some games, for fear of missing out on the other games?

Were you one of the few who bought a ticket for tonight's game but didn't bother attending?

That would explain the empty seats if nothing else.

If true, strange that blocks of them, especially in the Chapel (where I could see), chose to avoid the game en-masse?

I don't think you've thought this through, but that's not surprising.

No, it was a question, hence the question mark. I'll try another - not really a sell out then?

Whilst I'll agree that sometimes STHs don't go to all games for various reasons (some friends of mine are corporate but couldn't go tonight because of a birthday party) it would appear (from my vantage point in block 4) that there were groups of vacant seats in the Chapel for instance, Hardly a 'sell out'.

Maybe they were all friends with a communal birthday party to go to?

Deffo empty seats in a few areas. My ticket was replacing a STH pal in the Chapel but that's not unusual.

There were plenty of empty seats around the ground last night (Chapel / Itchen South, especially, and not just singles) - pretty plain to see for those who were there.
