    Pearce thanks the fans, bears no animosity towards Fawaz

    Top bloke - his statement says it all - link.

    “Right across the board, I have had the support of fans. I am not one to sit and worry about losing a certain reputation. I have never tried to live up to anything. That is not me,” said Pearce. “But the fans stuck behind me, right to the end, they gave me their backing throughout, from the start to the finish and that meant a lot. I want to thank them for that. Every one of them.

    “If I could go back to last summer, I would still come back into the club. My only disappointment through all of this was that I was not able to deliver the results,”

    Yes but he gets their results wrong also and ours.
    He wished us the best of luck in div.4 last season and hey presto we stopped up.

    SP showed true class in his exit.

    Given how he was treated (replacement announced 20mins after his own sacking), he could easily have struck out. True class from the fella

    He has handled this with great dignity, at a time when he must be seething inside at how he has been treated.

    Top bloke who will be remembered by Forest and Derby fans long after Fawaz has departed.

    Agreed. His standing in my mind went beyond any inter-club sillyness one night when Forest beat (I think) Spurs on a pen shoot out. When the Spurs guy missed the pen that won you the match, the whole Forest Team went mad for the usual post shoot-out circle-jerk - except SP, who walked over to the guy who missed and offered him a friendly word. Nice touch, maybe other saddo's recall that
