    Crewe V Preston

Without dwelling too much on a poor first half - Preston were in control until Turton scored - Ray looked shaky, passing was poor, Preston won the midfield battles too easily and we weren't closing them down at all.

Second half started really well and the disallowed goal turned the game and ruined it! Still no idea what it was for!! Ref overuled by the linesman for a tug?!!? Very poor decision.

Should have had a penalty too and how their number 19? stayed on i don't know - in fact his last foul the ref gave advantage then pne quickly substituted him - had no advantage been played he would have seen red.

Pleased to see uche back think he added something - haber was ok again and bar that not too many positives -

Poor refereeing again - and to note thought the stewards were appalling - they completely ignored or laughed off the on-going abuse from both sets of fans - will not be rushing to take my 7 year old there again

The disallowed goal changed the game. We were well on top and Preston were on the ropes, but disallowing that goal was inexplicable. Absolutely no idea what it was for. After that it knocked us back and lifted Preston, and the game turned completely. Elsewhere the ref was terrible. Infuriating that their 19 wasn't sent off, and Joe Garners diving for penalties got pretty annoying until he must have been told to grow up at half time. His third goal though was a beauty.

As for the place itself, nice ground but zero atmosphere. Their fans made no noise at all even at 5-1 up. The abuse... Nah that was nothing. A few mouthy fans having a go at each other, nothing more nothing less. And their stewards were telling their fans to sit down and stop antagonising.

Oh dear, and another tonking coming up.

The way this inexperienced side just gave the ball away in the second half was atrocious.

For the life of us, we couldn't see why our 'second' goal was chopped off, and BBC wisely didn't show it. As for Beckford's fifth, a yard offside, surely?

Still, this would only have made it a slightly closer game, not changed anything. For the fifth goal, PNE were allowed to walk the ball down the pitch following a Crewe corner, poorly taken by Cooper.

Sublime skills on display from their pony-tailed no. 24, Daniel Johnson; if only we could get hold of somebody of that class

Thank you to all three above. It's good to read posts from people who were there and can give an honest opinion.
From what I have read and heard we were well beaten, but there hasn't been much said about our 'keeper. I make no secret of my disquiet and now that's 5 in one game.
Did he stand a chancer with any? Was he out of position? Was he simply let down by a leaky, disjointed defence?

There's nothing we can do anyway, and I honestly hope that his kicking and athleticism shows my questions to be unnecessary.

Yep were well beaten - again i think had we got the equalizer we deserved it may have altered things but no question errors have cost us again.

Think Rachkuba did ok - looking back could maybe have done better on a few but pulled off a few decent saves - as many other of our keepers have done always looks to throw it out and doesnt seem at all vocal.

We have now conceded 6 x1, 5 x3 and 4 x2. Only one defender has played in all six of those games. We are building 2015/2016 season defence around him. I fear for the future. It will take more than one to one tuition from Alan Tate to make George Ray a reliable centre half

Wondering why Ray seems to be a shoe in after he's been missing? Even after he's been sent off?

Yes, he's young and inexperienced but is too much faith being shown in our own 'product' here? How many other decent CH's has the youth set up ever produced? Unless we're going to employ a quality defensive coach will we ever?

On what basis do you have this mistrust in him AL?.

You say that you haven't been to any away games recently, so on that basis you have only seen him at home where in 2 games he hasn't conceded a goal ?

Chipping away all the time until he does make a mistake and then stating 'I told you so' is the only place that this is heading.

We played well in the main yesterday, it was an even game at 2-1, their 3rd goal was a quality goal from the best player I have seen this season.

From thereon the defence as a whole fell apart.

I still think we have it all on to stay up as its so tight, but I for one will be getting behind the team as a whole, and not wasting energy in looking for the same scapegoat week in and week out !

AL, Garrett would have let in five goals after being let down so completely by the defence in front of him.

    So would David de Gea.

Rachubka is adequate. Anyway, if we're taking the risk of no GK sub, then we'd better believe in him and get behind him.
