Heard the same piece Herbie - I took it as, if Championship football is secured for next season then the decision to complete the first phase (upto 16,000) will become a distinct possibility!!
Driving in to work this morning and listened to Radio Sheffield news. After the news there was a quick one line snippet from the sports guy (not sure which one) indicating that Tony Stuart has made reference to stadium expansion plans coming ever closer.
Anyone heard anything? Have I missed something?

Its not needed we couldn't even sell out our half of south stand vs pigs
If he builds it and we start pushing towards the play-offs in a year or two then the people will come, be sure of that.
Some people said they wouldn't come to NYS. We used to average 2,500 - 3000 at Millmoor and DVS. We are now averaging 8,500 - 9,000.
They will come alright![]()
Also, how many floating supporters are currently put off going to the match as they struggle to get sufficient seats together due to season ticket holder taking up most of the space? A new stand gives people opportunity to get new season tickets and sit together.
Just a thought?
I'd only expand the away end. We can't even sell out for the pigs game.
I would think we are averaging over 9,000
What are you on about? 11,700 just over for Wendies game, you are not going to get a full house with segregation now are you :/
Agreed Millertop. I thought it was a record attendance? Was it not?
We are currently averaging 10100 and need about 26800 through the gate in the last 3 games to average 10k for the season. I don't know when the last time we averaged 10k was, we never did it in the 4 seasons in the championship under Ronnie and we were short of that number during Emlyn hughes's reign in the 80's.
As a matter of interest what did we average in the 80s...we has 20k vs pigs and 18k vs dingles
