    Hanging judges?

Let's cut Ryan some slack, eh?

It was mentioned at his second trial that the 20-y-o and his partner had a young child. All kinds of problems can arise in such a situation, and might have explained lateness.

True, he's hard work. In his latest interview, you wonder whether Steve meant 'I've stuck with him' or 'I'm stuck with him'. Or maybe both.

Trouble seems to go looking for him, but it would be better to hope to get things back on to an even keel for the next seven games. He has unusual gifts, if he can learn to apply them.

In any case, if we were to re-sign him, he could be in a weakish bargaining position, and this could save us a bit.

    re: Hanging judges?

I'm with you VdP and, like some on another thread, believe that internal discipline should be just that - internal and not for public consumption and comment. I also fail to see how telling the lad that, because he's late, he doesn't get to train. Surely, if you're late you do extra training?

We all know about his injury problems almost since his debut and it is hard to imagine how difficult it must be for a lad of his age to be constantly making progress then knocked back so that he's unable to play yet again. All the while his contemporaries are seeing their careers advance and younger players than him are overtaking him. This doesn't excuse some of his behaviour, of course, but I think we need to cut him some slack and give him at least another year. Fully fit he has something and, if we can channel it, he could become a big player for us both on the pitch and in the all important transfer market. Would hate to see him rock up at Vale Park and score a thunderbolt AGAINST us!!
