    Sheffield post-mortem

What a delight it was to drive back over the Pennines listening to the Radio Sheffield phone-in. Caller after caller berated Nigel Clough for losing to " a team like Crewe". Again and again they failed to understand that 4-0 against S****horpe a few days earlier means nothing when faced with the great Alex unpredictables! One bloke even claimed to have left at half-time as he knew what was going to happen - I wish he had told me, it would have saved some shredded nerves! 57,000 loyal fans through the doors in a week to end up losing to the likes of Crewe!
Then Mr Clough himself came on. The pitch, his forwards, the ref (disallowed goal), tiredness, nerves and a deflected goal were all to blame for the debacle we had all witnessed.
The journey flew by and by Buxton we were gloriously treated to McGarry's commentary on Radio Stoke doing it all again for us.
Having listened with amusement to the Blades' wailing and despair I am so glad to support a team where the majority of the fans stic

Very good post -had the same thing when we drew with one 1-1 - "we should be beating the likes of crewe"

No one deserves to be expecting to beat us - as Bristol ask Sheffield

We deserve respect and optimise everything that is good in English football and I am and always will be proud of this club

Don't forget the free kick "that was going 20 YARDS WIDE" and was deflected for a corner from which we scored the winner. 20 yards? He's been told 10 million times not to exaggerate1

My favourite Nigel Clough anti Crewe rant was when a reporter asked him about a spat with Crewe's assistant manager Neil Baker (after the cup game) and he responded..'I am unsure of Baker's position, but the fact he is in the dugout confirms my therory that he is nothing more than an over achieving pub bouncer.'
