    Thoughts on the Rawson mess

I've been trawling around to find out what I can on the mess to try and work out what's gone on.

From what I can see, there's a pretty limited scope for how we can have screwed it up.

Firstly, if it was a 28 day Youth Loan as was reported at the time, we wouldn't have been able to extend it over Easter. This is important. The deadline for all new business (including extending existing loans) is the last Thursday in March.

You'd normally agree a longer loan with a break clause after 28 days. That break can be exercised outside the transfer window. Maybe we thought we'd done that but we actually hadn't (but that then doesn't fit with Evans talking about extending his loan).

I can't really see how we can defend the position though. He's either eligible or he's not. There's no real grey area as you sign a loan transfer that has a start and end date on it. If he's not eligible, he's not eligible.

The only thing I can think is we've some written proof that the deal with Derby was u

I think we have just got to take what ever is thrown at us and then hope we can produce the goods to keep us up and move on but more importantly learn for this potentially huge error!

We've definitely got to take what comes our way.

The positive is that if we lose 3 points, we still stay up if we match Millwall and Wigan over 4 games.

why do we have to take what is thrown at us? this is a admin error and we are talking about a whole season and £millions being lost due to that, there are enough inconsistencies in the dealings on similar matter for us to fight. Why sit back just because we are Rotherham and potentially lose our championship status because of a office worker making an error. Do you think Man utd, liverpool, arsenal or chelsea would take what is thrown at them. The FA hate courts and publicity that exposes them as poor administrators, if we lose points that leads to relegation (which it will to me because we won't get anymore than 4 more points max) we should appeal, take it to every court possible drag it impact the start of next season

Surely some obscure office worker wasn't the only one with the transfer details, didn't Rawson know how long he was here for? Didn't Evans/Raynor and Co know how long he was here for? Didn't Derby know how long he was here for? And how difficult is it to record the date his loan expires on a wallchart, in a diary, on a spreadsheet... on the back of your hand? Grrrrrrr...

Evans picks the team so it is down to him to know the exact status of all his players.

If he is not sure it is his job to find out. It is simply part of the managers job.

It may not be an office worker who that made the mistake. I expect Evans to know the exact status of all his players.
