    MANAGER FOR CHAMPIONSHIP????

Do you think Mr Barraclough is the manager to lead us if we are relegated ( more than likely we will be relegated) if so the club would need to act quick as the new season starts on 25TH July, with the Petrofac Cup,yes folks our chance to win silverware.

IMO he has to be given a chance with his own players and a new season from the start, as he had to wade through a team full of lack of ambition and confidence when he started. He won't be given long to get things right from the outset and must hit the ground running at the start of the new season

Six of our starting XI from Saturday were his own players, on top of that there's Straker and N Thomas, who both must be up there with our biggest signing disasters ever.

Whatever happens this month, I'd be amazed if Baraclough is our manager beyond autumn. He seems like a decent enough guy but is woefully out of his depth.

I said at the time we needed someone like Jimmy Calderwood, would have cost us buggger all and hed have assembled a defence that would have helped not hindered our chances.

A Jimmy Calderwood was exactly what we needed when replacing McCall in order to shake up and organise that squad, get them out their comfort zones and make us solid defensively, which we needed more than anything. I applauded the club for 'thinking outside the box' by appointing IB as it was a brave move and a gamble, one which simply had to pay off. Sadly though it hasn't and despite Baraclough talking a very good game, which no doubt helped him get the job, and having funds made available to him to bring in almost an entire new first team, he has taken us from 10th in December to the playoffs and still shipping ridiculous goals and looking devoid of heart and character.

Suffice to say the 'gamble' has not paid off and thus Baraclough should be out the door in the summer if not before.

All very well but we don't know anything about his contract. Is it to the end of the season or for 2 years? Is there a relegation clause? Who knows.

It was a gamble to take on IB, a gamble we could ill afford at the time. We were 10th in the league and fighting against relegation, that's not the time to take a gamble. We should have gone for a safe pair of hands at the time and Calderwood would have been one of the safer options. He certainly would have sorted the defensive woes that's cost us all season because he built his Aberdeen teams on a solid defence. Even Craig brown, dare i say it, would have sorted the situation out a lot better. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though and the board look to have made a bit of a mess of it. We have what we have, and as I understand it even if we get relegated Ib will still be manager next year. Tough times indeed.

We're a mediocre team with an ailing support who got lucky past 3 seasons due circumstances and now found out.
Jimmy Calderwood !! Carrumba ... remember Brown when left us for Aberdeen.
Although not relegation candidates, a club that size/history soon bottom 6. Only when McInnes appointed did it turn around.
I'm surprised someone not suggesting Jim Jefferies. They're out the game for good reason .. PAST IT.
Dundee Utd (McNamara). Dundee (Hartley, Inverness (Hughes )(Top 6) ... ALL Top 6 but we stuck McCall. Writing was on the wall start of season but we left it too late. Before IB appointed some wanted Butcher ... WTF ?
We should be looking lower Scottish leagues for someone with knowledge of their players and ones we can attract.

Yeah, we should have dipped into the Scottish lower leagues...Dick Campbell could have done us a turn.
