“Some of the lads who arrived during January / February certainly impressed and aided in our league survival, and we would be keen to keep them on. However, we still need to have a conversation with either the individuals or their parent clubs to see what is possible," says Bara.

I can't imagine we're not going to try to keep McDonald unless he's made it very clear already that he's off.

He was staying with McManus while here so sounds like it was always short term he may have other plans but agree would love to see him back like pearo for another couple of years

Clearly depends on how he envisions seeing out his playing career and what comes next... I'm not convinced anyone in the (English) championship will chance him again but League One still has more cash than us. Alternatively, he may feel his time in the UK has come to a natural end having returned to us to keep us up...and would he want a pittance wage to trudge through an SPFL winter when he could be back home and earning more playing in Melbourne or Sydney?

Wouldnt argue with any of those being released you could quite possible make the slowest laziest team in the league outta that lot.

Sutton I think will go to St Johnstone if they approach as he may want one last pay day. Though the departure of Erwin might tempt him. Id still be concerned about playing him as main striker unless we play a game to suit his style.

Ainsworth I think might have just done enough to get himself noticed so would be surprised if he didnt have other options.

    Erwin is Defo gone.

If McManus plays the way he did in the play offs hed be an asset in his last year but who knows.

If we managed to add Sutton, Ainsworth

Would have liked Laing and McDonald to stay longer but not too be , manager now needs to earn his corn and find decent replacements. Anyone want to bet auld swagger bawz Vigurs cons a half decent team to sign him. The club site seems to indicate that some of the short term signings might not be over yet merely returning to their parent club and we'd like to have conversations about some. Id still try for McDonald

I could see Sutton going to Partick - lives in Maryhill already apparently.

I'm happy to keep him if we can as he's a good option to have but unless we play a proper 4-4-2 with two up top or are suddenly good enough to dominate with a 4-3-3/4-5-1 again, he'll mainly be on the bench. He seems a real pro so I'm sure would be happy to do his bit however but I really don't see him taking the necessary wage cut his new status would require at this stage of his career.

Ainsworth may tempt others but his previous club-hopping and performances for the first six months of the campaign are surely big red flags, I wouldn't be surprised if we keep him.

    Erwin sounds a goner, agree.

Of the rest, I'd obviously like to keep McDonald but the rest of the short-term group can go without it being a real loss...you could make a generous case for Laing, Long and Grant but Grant couldn't get a start, Long was a liability until the play-off and Laing little better.

Good god what a rogue gallery of charlatans what a terrible squad we actully had when you look at the freed players.

Laing out of contract so hope he comes back to us.

A real clearout indeed. This will give IB plenty of scope to bring in his own players over what promises to be a very busy summer.
