    ENGLAND GALS A SAD ENDING?

They outplayed Japan in the 2nd half

Were unlucky on a cracker of an own goal (best shot of the tourney?) to end it.

However, their equalizer PK came off a dive (more like a fall down) by the England gal. The Ref clearly was looking to even things up. A horrible call that one.

Too bad! IMO, the England gals had the best organized team on the field of any team in the tourney and deserved to go forward. They will be back.

They suffered greatly playing on the turf as their long balls never slowed down enough for their players to run onto them. It really hurt them in the 2nd half.

Still, had either team played the extra time of an overtime match that was certain occur, if the Own Goal had not happened, it would have all but handed the Cup to the USA.

The Japan Vs England match had been an all out effort by both teams and was the best game I saw the entire tourney.

    England Beat the Krauts.

    And be proud.

Morgan was the England star in the end. Bronze going out, hurt England

England was clearly the best coached and most well in match organized team in the Cup.

Coaching and organizational structure in women's football is more important than in the men's game.

Proof? Such a high percentage of goals come from set pieces and errors.

The game favors the better disciplined squad.

I do think England could have won the whole thing.

*** not following an OT extra match though..

It was not to be this time. England is now a force in the world of Women's football - support them.

Besides, the English men will not have it all sorted out for another 1000 years at the rate they are going.

Barnsley was the WOM. Her great save + many other solid saves, sure handed plays and positioning set her apart for me.

Northern Lad is probably using his embellished coaching role of her as a youth as a grabber for his wobbly street corner panhandling business - that he runs in downtown Vallejo CA. between police shakedowns.

Questioned Duggan sitting - in the end it did not matter. Wonder if she had a knock or something? Never heard/
