An enjoyable afternoon, a friendly reception at Brachen Moor, good opposition, lots of Millers' chances - their keeper was outstanding, particularly in the second half - and Tom Thorpe looked head & shoulders above everyone else: calm & assured on the ball, doing the simple things well.
Aidy White had several long runs, showing a fair turn of space, switching wings regularly.
An encouraging performance from the squad & cracking second goal.
Walking in I noticed Zippy, standing with his retinue of followers but without his camera, so no photo spread on the match. Poor show, Zippy - keep your standards up man.
Going out, slowly squeezing through the exit from the main stand, in front was Steve Evans, posing for a pic holding some fan's young son. Nice touch. So, I saw one big Millers' cheese on my way in and the Big Cheese on my way out.
All the players were willing to pose with fans, sign autographs & acknowledge Millers attending both before, during & after the game : impressive a

I totally understand the problem, Zippy, having suffered from it in my younger days.
I'd assumed you'd got those slightly furtive looking characters with you to do a sort of pre-emptive strike to prevent unwanted attention from the ladies.
Still, do remember Zippy, I don't think attention from the ladies ever stopped David Bailey from completing his photoshoots, so I'm expecting more of your usual in the coming weeks, especially if you make it up to the fabled Firhill, home of the Mighty Maryhill Magyars, Partick Thistle.
If I see you there I'll treat you to a fish supper in Jaconellis, one of the few remaining Italian-Scottish cafes, right by the ground, opposite the Charles Rennie Mackintosh church.[ Cafe D'Jaconelli, 570 Maryhill Road]
That's a delight any Miller attending the game should savour pre or post-match (the fish supper not the church, though it's well worth a look - now HQ of the Mackintosh Society). Don't forget to have one of the superb Italian ices to finish.
I don't think it's so much, "Attention" i get from the Ladies ST, it's more "Pity":-D
Don't worry, my photo blog will be back from Alfreton on Tuesday, and as in the previous 2 Scottish tours, you will be spoiled (or bored rigid) with several hundred photo's from Scottish Grounds old and new, League and non-league from this years tour.
I'll be at Partick of course, but i'll be trudging the streets with my luggage awaiting the Supporters coach which i'm returning home on...humbled and grateful for the offer of the Fish supper, but no need for any treats, an hand shake and a smile will suffice.
Take care and i'll no doubt see you up there.
Zippy, I'll be in my usual seat in the Jackie Husband stand (the stand up the hill to the canal opposite the old main stand) with the hardcore West End Jags' fans [aka the posh mob] but I'm sure I'll spot you at some point before or after the game.
Usually have a post-Jags match snack in Jaconelli's - do at least pop in and get an Italian icecream: they're superb.
