    Women's World Cup

To be played in Canada this time around and will start shortly; already the teams are playing friendlies in the host nation, with matches spread across the country in a variety of stadiums and cities. The games run for a month starting June 6th.

Yesterday in a warm up game Canada defeated England 1-0 and had the better of the play for most of the match. The closest England came to equalizing was a ball off the crossbar in the later stages.

Sorry Tunds but I don't have the slightest bit of interest in the Womans game, World Cup or not.

I am very pleased to see that Women's football has advanced significantly over the years and why shouldn't it? It is not as if it has any detrimental effect on Men's football.

I hope that there will be some coverage of this tournament on UK TV and also hope that you will keep us updated, Tunds.

    Thanks for mentioning it.

Every game is to be carried live in the UK, BBC2 will be one of three stations covering the event.

When the guy in Canada has to confirm what the BBC is covering, tournament wise, for UK based patrons...it feels surreal.

Personally, I am waiting for the Ryan Giggs goal celebration , just hope they have less chest hair

    Well read old son.

As to the "Ladies world" cup, I am with yourself and Plates, I am glad they have the stage but I have no time for the rubbish myself.
