    o/t French Riviera

All of us have heard that it is beautiful but I have just got back and I have never seen such sea side scenery...breathtaking.

I visited Eze and zilzal will know that some scenes from Hitchco..cks 1955 film To Catch A Thief were filmed at this medieval village.

Has anyone been to the French Riviera and can anyone a place with such beautiful scenery?

Kempo..In reply to such beautiful scenery I suppose it's personal choice but I have to say I still find the Inner passage through Alaska simply breath taking…

Open expanse of water…forests…wildlife (pods of whales close up) without a house or car horn or people in sight….a dream world….

The air was so fresh and the whole experience will remain with me forever

You often hear that quote but to me it will as some places you visit just don't touch that special place in your thought and they soon fade away not Alaska though….

I've been fortunate to travel to Corsica, Bastia and Ajaccio, with work. Beautiful places and wonderful people. The scenery, food and wine were all, almost, perfection.

It's easy to see why people fall in love with the South of France..

Not been to Alaska Brin but I would love that sort of scenery.

Visited Corsica off the cruise and agree lightning, laid back with spectacular vista wherever you look.

We value possessions but few things can beat what nature gives us for free.

We are very lucky to live in an age when travel has become available to so many.

I've been to Patagonia which has glaciers, icebergs floating by and countless mountains. It's also by the coast.

It's funny you mention that, outlaw, because, in answer to Kempo's original question, I was going to say that the coast of Chile between Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar is very similar topographically to the French Riviera and certainly matches it for beauty. (I used to visit Santiago on business fairly regularly and spent an occasional weekend on the coast. I've also stayed in Beaulieu-sur-Mer and driven the Corniche between Nice and Monaco and both are spectacular.)

Route 1 south of San Francisco through Big Sur and Monterey on the US West coast also takes some beating...
