Just another Premier league wage mercenary.
Only last week he rejected a move to Man.City, but now he's just become their latest signing. All fun and games on Villa forums tonight. - view external link

Sparring with potential suitors, trying to swing the best deal, jumping from club-to-club is a sad reality in the world of shallow athletes for who an extra million or more pounds earns more more self-respect than loyalty to supporters who may go without for the chance to buy a club shirt with the same number as their hero, a season ticket or a coach ride on a cold, rainy week-night to see him play at a hostile stadium.
Very sad...though it happens so often it makes you wonder why anyone is still surprised when it happens these days.![]()
I remember when Bully was touted by Milan and Spurs in the early nineties at his peak. He chose not to go ,as he was in love with Helen when they lived in Norton.
It seems nowadays that you go where the money is and reap the benefits of the money that is lured.
This move to Citeh will in no way enhance Delphs claim to be wearing an England shirt. In my opinion he will spend a lot of his near future sat on the subs bench.
We all know that loyalty has long since died in our game but with the money now involved it's understandable, if still distasteful. Actually I think you have to go back to the seventies to really appreciate loyalty, when there were still many 'one club' players who continued to live in the area after their careers had finished.
I've long accepted that this is the way it is now but what really bugs me is when a player openly expresses devotion only to jump ship at the first chance, I'd have more respect if they just kept it shut and got on with what they're being paid for until the inevitable move happens.
It appears this is exactly what Delph has been doing. Apparently, even as recently as a week ago when there seemed to be an issue with his medical at "Citeh" he was claiming that it was all because he didn't want to leave Villa. Of course it was utter bull5hite and understandably the Villa fans are furious.
If I get a better salary offer from another company with better conditions then I'm off.
Bye bye.
I do not owe my present employers any ounce of loyalty nor should I have to feel responsible for "letting down" my current clients or customers.
I will be doing this for my family and myself.
Why should it be different for footballers?
Why should fans feel so much betrayal?
After all, there is nothing in a footballers contract stipulating he should be loyal to the company that pays his extortionate wages, nothing saying he should stay at the club for life because the fans chant his.
The reason fans become bitter and feel betrayed is because of the ridiculous amount of money waved in front of your average footballer because it has been allowed to get to this.
We welcome big money "stars" with open arms, money is never mentioned at this stage. It doesn't matter because our star is doing a great job for us.
When he gets a better offer from a bigger club, God help him.
****ing Judas.

When he gets a better offer
A touch hypocritical, don't you think?
You talk of mediocre players and the demise of the English game but you covert The Premier League Circus and all the obscenities that go with it?
Apologies, my mistake.
It's the green eyed monster taking over again.
