Will bowyer stick with Hanley as captain

One of Gary's mistakes last season was selecting him as captain
So would you keep him in that role hoping he would grow up/in to the role?
For me hell no grant is a good defender but making him captain gave him a added thing to think about which ultimately caused very poor performances that coupled with the sending off against Wigan some would say he is clearly not ready maturity wise.

If Hanleys made captain we can only presume he will be first choice CB. If hes made captain Hanley will also presume hes first choice CB which i think adds to his complacency.

If thats so he d better come back in a better physical/mental/positional way of thinking.

Too many times he switched off last season. This season we may not have the firepower up front to accommodate for his mistakes.

It would be a good move for him. More likely he could get into the EPL again.

GB clearly does not share the doubts some of us have about Hanley ...or Lowe come to that. I notice most posters are now talking about Lowe as if his return will be *****, but he didn't get that favourable a response from fans when he was a regular. I'm not sure what has changed people's minds.
Let's hope Bowyer's judgement is correct. The captaincy? Which of the AUTOMATIC first-team choices would it shift to? (Kilgallon doesn't come in that category). Is there an OBVIOUS natural leader out there?

Ok aucks I will jump in here
I was one of the posters who didn't see what Lowe truly offered the team
he always seemed like he passed sideways or under pressure back to the keeper
however this was due to his partner in the middle let's be honest when Murphy is your central partner you are under pressure straight away
his energy was missed a good partner in the middle(Guthrie maybe)and that will be a great support to the defence
As for Hanley it is a real curious case the past couple of seasons he has been poor but is that due to his defensive partner?
When he was with dann they were one of the best partnerships in the league I think he thrives alongside a older head
captain wise if not kilgallon then what about Lowe?

Well, Robin, your other thread suggests we might HAVE TO look elsewhere for a captain! If the Hanley move SHOULD happen, that would obviously make Kilgallon a regular starter, and he does seem to have obvious captaincy qualities.
On the Lowe question, I shared your opinion, in that he rarely seemed to offer much that was positive or creative, but I also agree that it might be a question of finding him the right partner.
Saxo/JR has always had a lot of faith in Lowe. I hope he and GB are proved right.
Another (off-centre, I admit) thought occurred to me. If Hanley goes, what about Guthrie as captain? He has a bit of a reputation for "trouble" but he also has the grit and tenacity I think a captain should possess. Giving him responsibility might be exactly what he needs.
In other words, I am struggling to see an obvious candidate!

I see where you are coming from with Guthrie however not always the best move giving the captain's armband to a new player
I for one feel this story will fade Hanley will remain at the club and as captain.
