    Bradford City

The Bantams smash through the 18,000 season ticket sales.

Clubs will only appreciate supporters when there are none left .But not at Valley Parade.
    Well done Bradford.

£25 for home tickets on the day I think.

There's a couple of Bradford fans at work who've bought season tickets because they go to half a dozen games a season. They'll probably go to 10 instead now but they won't go every week (the lads I know can't).

For Bradford, it works because they've a massive stadium. If they get 5,000 fans who only go 10 times a season on a season ticket then that's fine for them. They did the Flexicard thing for the same reason (pay £50 up front then get £10 off admission).

    Doesn't work for most clubs.

They'll really struggle if they get promoted though and they need to start charging £300-400 a season ticket to make the numbers work...that's a massive hike in prices.

Fair play to them. I thought they did a kids ticket free with an adults at one time.

not knocking what Bradford have done, but just pointing out that income wise, our circa 8,000 at £350+ brings in £2.8m, versus £150x 18,000 = £2.7M

True David, but an extra 10,000 obtains more match day revenue on merchandise and food sales

You are knocking and your observations are sad. Why do you assume the motive here is profit or income maximisation. Perhaps the club simply want to allow and encourage more fans to attend.
I find it pathetic that constantly on here a gloss is put on the behaviour of RUFC, its owner, manager, players and fans while the actions of other clubs are routinely denigrated. The latest example of appalling player behaviour and the reaction to it on MM is a case in point.

The number of people in the ground won't be 18,000 though. As already mentioned above, many Bradford fans will buy a season ticket, but only go to a few games.

If the official attendance is based on ticket sales rather than clicks of the turnstile, it'll be 18k, but people in the ground will be a lot lower.
