SO, whilst we are talking about Robinson's departure to make way for Clarke at CB (which by the way I think could be the right decision), we still lack any sort of pace in defence. Yes, this wasn't a problem away at Gillingham today, but that's probably because they don't have any themselves...

Whilst Burgess, Stevens, Clarke, Whatmough and Webster are all young, they all lack a bit of pace, and Davies is certainly getting on a bit so won't be getting quicker. What worries me this season is that we are playing attacking midfielders who have a tendency to come inside (Bennett/ Evans/ Roberts), and so that leaves a perfect opportunity for full backs to overlap outside.. however with the lack of pace that we've got, that probably won't be much of a threat going forward, and defensively once we come up against some speedy attacking players we could be really troubled by balls over the top and in behind...

Some pacey full backs, even as a reserve option, could be useful to bring in b
