I meant to comment on this two weeks ago, but forgot.
Franco is an excellent example of how players can improve dramatically. To be honest, he did not look that good in front of goal for us, and sometimes appeared a bit donkey-like!
Now he has gone to Schalke for 4.2m pounds, and is a regular in the Argentina squad.
Perhaps there is hope for Chris Brown yet!

I got to be honest about Chris Brown i feel he puts in a decent amount of effort and ok he lacks confidence but given time he will get better in that department
this season players will need support especially the younger ones not panning when they have a bad game time will tell on that one though
back to the original thread di Santo was woeful for us but you are bang on about how players come on I guess different managerial styles can also aid development.
