That was only his fifth fantastically taken penalty to equal Bobby Charltons' record
Class!
Mind you I could not see Bobby having his arm pit hair planted on his head.
The best posible chance for Wayne Rooney to heighten his legend status and become the highest ever goal scorer for England.
What a career he's having!
I hope he scores a hattrick today.

Score 0-3 now...Oxlade-Chamberlain made a good run down the wing. followed by a pierfect cross (when did anybody last write that?!). for Barclay to score. Rooney still level with Bobby CharltonEngland goals tally...and he's now been substituted
Tbh I can't see how a valid comparison can be made between Rooney and Charlton.
The game has changed so much between the two careers
Finished 0-6.. let's hope Derbyshire was watching how Kane put away that ome-on-one chance and learned something
That's why Kane would cost millions and Derbyshire thousands
Funny to think Derbyshire was widely expected to be an England regular when he first appeared. Didn't he have a motorbike accident or something that put him out for ages and never quite found the deadly finish again?
Rooney isn't the player he was. He had that chance in the 2nd half he lost control. But will Roy boy as in Steve Evans words be able to make that tough call to tell him there's somebody younger, better.
David R- I think that was Matt Jansen you are thinking about, funny as I have confused the two in the past
Rooney will never be held in the same light as World Cup winner Charlton or World Cup hero Linekar but he can only beat what is in front of him.
The afformrntioned were better players in better teams. And they scored against better sides in better competitions.
That's hardly Rooney's fault though and I'd like to see him recognise that.
