December - Make or Break Month for Wolves

I'll include our next match in this, but our schedule over the next month or so will decide if Wolves will make a serious challenge for the playoffs. This is our month to move up the table. Here is our schedule for the next seven matches and the current position in the table for those teams:

    28/11 - MK Dons - 22
    5/12 - @Rotherham - 23
    11/12 - Nottingham Forest - 18
    17/12 - Leeds United - 16
    20/12 - @Sheffield Wednesday - 8
    26/12 - Reading - 7
    28/12 - @Charlton Athletic - 20

That's four teams in or within two points of the drop zone at the moment. Another team in the bottom half of the table. Reading are in 7th, but they just lost their manager. Sheffield Wednesday have not finished at or above their current spot in the table since they were in the Premier League in the 99-00 season. They have only finished in the top half of the second tier twice in that time. So this is unfamiliar territory for them.

This is 21 potential points. I don't expect 21. But getting 13 point

Mich, I thought Steve Clarke was still at Reading. However, if we are looking at a play-off place, we will really need to get a minimum of 15 points out of that set of fixtures. Given that the Christmas period is notorious for unexpected results, maybe we could sneak three points against Reading and, if that followed a draw, rather than a defeat at the Owls, I would probably be delighted!

My mistake, thought he was set to take the Fulham job. Their position in the table may be a bit more stable then. But still, they're no world beater.

Not the best of starts but, with Williamson gone, I suspect the task could be getting harder.

The expression 'make or break' hanging over our head like the Sword of Damocles.

re: December - Make or Break Month for Wolves

I know there's still about 25 minutes left in our match today, but we won't be evening this up.
But I think it's safe to say that December broke us. No chance for playoffs now.

    MK Dons - 1 point
    Rotherham - 3 points
    Forest - 1 point
    Leeds - 0
    Wednesday - 0

So I had the target of 13 or so for the month of December, and we have 5. And best case scenario is 11 if we beat Reading and Charlton (which I don't think is happening).

Safety is #1 priority going forward now.
