    Cost of Failure

Could not hold any longer and I thought I'd put an view of how much relegation would hurt us.

A few season's ago we had John Bowler said that we would not be in this position again, well three seasons down the line we are bottom albeit by goal difference. The football has been terrible at times and player recruitment has been appalling and lack of plan B to change a game let alone hold onto a lead has cost us.

The team that SD took on was a Dario team that had it shackles released and the new appointment was a breath of fresh air for the club and team alike. We had two visits to Wembley with promotion and winning the JPT and that brought a buzz back to the club and much needed revenue with the trips to Wembley and the sale of players like Powell, Westwood, Murphy and Clayton all generating us around £5m. People do go on about budgets but look at Burton & Walsall similar size club but managed right and with the desire to win, it can be done.

Yes the board have been quiet and ye

I would not worry to much as the Men in the Boardroom dont seem to be to bothered,or care where the club goes .

We should be building a team to compete at LG 1 level like Rochdale, Burton etc but we don't and haven't and it's too late now, too many cheap signing, poor signings, not good enough academy players same as always, we live on former glories always talking of 'The Crewe way' which doesn't work now and our club is stuck in some rose tinted past that's irrelevant, no changes at the top means same old and relegation end of season now.

    re: Cost of Failure

Over heard a conversation between Dario and a fan at halftime on Monday. When he was asked how we were going to escape relegation he replied " we need money to get out of it but have none "
This says it all, if there is no money there is little SD or another manager can do to stop us falling into the league below and possibly further. The board need to take a stock of all expenditures at the club from staff to facilities. Savings can be made but it will be a big decision to make . This league allows the club to save money on travel etc but league 2 will increase this expenditure a lot and the value of our players will fall as we are playing lower league football.

The one main problem with continuing 'The Crewe Way' is that the players currently coming through aren't as good as they used to be. We have very few saleable assets (Ben & Ryan, maybe Jonah at a push) so that route of big income isn't there. If jamesdad is correct and DG says that there is no money, the club needs to have a hard look at the finances - income & outgoings. Sadly the only financial option that they seem to follow is to cut the playing budget without, it seems, thinking that this has an effect on income through the gate.

Maybe DARIO can put all his 10% transfer fees back in the club then
