o/t rip off holiday firms :(

over the last two years holiday companies blamed the cost of fuel for banging up the prices

this year they are £400 plus higher than last year

ie 3 weeks in cuba 4* is over £2000 for one person

    rip off Britain

are they just taking advantage of the shrinking market ie no Tunisia no sharm etc ?

I really feel for anyone with kids now

Its called capitalism gentlemen. The laws of supply and demand rule the roost. Supply is down, no Tunisia, not much in Egypt and people are understandably turning their backs on Turkey. Demand is high as people are feeling a little more confident about the future, hence the price goes up.
If you guys are thinking of strting a revolution then I am behind you, comrades.

Add Kos and Rhodes to that list.

Who in their right mind would want to holiday there?

The only revolution it would take is for people to vote with their feet and stay at home. Kids don't need to go abroad to have fun. They would be just as happy to be on the receiving end of some quality time with parents. What do babies and young kids get out of holidays in the sun? Nothing - it's all about the parents needs, not the kids.

Correct....If Tony re-reads his own post he will discover it contains a vivid clue to how free market economies actually work.

Surely holidays are luxury options if you can afford it. If you can't afford it don't go.
