A cracking game of footie - and thanks to Wigan fans

For me that was what being an Alex fan is all about: they take us to the edge of despair, lady luck smacks us round the face with some horrible late goals - and then produce 90 minutes of entertainment.
I'm not going to be too negative (1. the booking of Cooper for kicking the ball away was harsh and unfair; 2. 5 minutes added time!! splutter, splutter.) and I am going to praise Coco, Inman and Cooper for enthusiasm, athleticism, stamina and some great crowd-pleasing skills.
I'm sorry for anyone who missed Inman's goal (please stay to the whistle - half time coffee can wait!), but it is something we can say we were proud to be at Gresty Road to witness.

If anyone wants to be negative about the Alex players, just remember that going into the game confidence will have been at its nadir, and the flack that SD has been getting would not have helped.

    I'm glad I was there.

The only difference was really that the team never conceded a Late goal, and that has nothing to do with bad luck!its been going on for years. Anyway most teams like Vale and Stoke moan at a draw at home at Crewe we Celebrate? it was 2 points lost Reality check calm down.

A predictable, if disappointing, response from Itwasin. Clearly didn't attend the game because had he done so, he would have been applauding the performance rather than posting some negative tripe. It was most definitely a point gained. Wigan are a strong side and so they should be with the funds at their disposal. Play like that every week and we will be away from the bottom 4 before May

We were absolutely brilliant in the first half, played some fantastic football. Went off the boil a little in the second half and definitely tired towards the end. One substitution 5 minutes from the end didn't quite cut the mustard, but then we shouldn't be surprised by that! Hope we keep the same starting eleven, why haven't we been playing this team before now? If we can continue to play like we did in the first half then there is some hope for us. Like AL, don't know where the added 5 mins came from?
A very entertaining game of football against a good side, who will be up there at the end of the season.

I am not aware that I have made any predictions, however, the constant negative garbage coming from someone who seems to never attend a game is quite awe inspiring!

I am a train driver and work most weekends but still love the Alex's.i don't attend most matches but we all need to fight against what is happening to this club my granddad would turn in is grave and he played for the Alex (George Cope (Killer Cope)if you can't get the ball get the man). To many people on here only think about the last few years of glory but now is about saving are destiny.

AL is a marvellous, inspiring example to us all. He could be glory hunting in the King Power Stadium, but instead chooses to support a proper team.

One that will support the likes of Lennon, Hulse and Bakayogo through injuries that most teams would have given up on. Can't see Smurf having had the patience.

AL doesn't gripe about the faceless leeches who are sucking the club dry as they tighten their hold on the land on which the Stadium sits, ready to make a quick killing.

It is what it is, and the situation will never change.

The only cause for regret is that Dave Whelan didn't start selling his stuff on Crewe market as his career here drew to a close. Maybe he'd have been inspired to invest in the Alex, not Wigan. He may be a Marmite sort of individual, with some views rivalling Donald Trump's, but what a fabulous roller coaster ride we might have been on with him.

Anyway, this is pie in the sky, as is any hope that we might get our current manager replaced, while ther

Thank you VdeP. I can't actually 'like' your comment coz that would be too 'Facebooky', but you have encapsulated what I mean. The original post was/is an antithesis of the whinging and moaning about things that I, and I suspect most posters, cannot change. No matter what happens 'upstairs' I am still an Alex fan; no matter what division we end up in (and a few short years ago I was agreeing with another poster about how we would still get STs if we were in the Conference), I am still a Railwayman; no matter who the appointed manager is, and I have no say in such appointments.

What I am aware of is that we are going through some harsh belt tightening. Our Board, by and large, is not there to make money out of the club, but the individual members put in much time and debate to ensure we are still viable and not following the path of Bury, Vale, Tranmere, Stockport, Barrow, Hereford et al.

Yesterday's exhibition of Div 1 football, mistakes 'n all, was a wonderful way to spend an af
