    Pompey Sea City......

Watched this last night on BBC 2, interesting programe about the city, fair bit about the Navy and Marines as you would expect but worth looking at on IPlayer.

What took the gloss off it for me was the item on Geest line ships using the port, Geest is a British company using a British port and yet they are using Dutch ships, that can't be right.

It was a good programme Claw. It's worth reading Down to the Sea in Ships by Horatio Clare which, as well as giving an interesting account of life on board large container ships, also explains a bit about how international marine finance works and some of its absurdities. For instance chickens are reared in the US taken across the Pacific to China for slaughter and then brought back to the US again.

Your right Corky, good programme , interesting for me as I served in the Royal Marines.

Might take a look at that book you mentioned.

You have to get back up to Lge 1, any chance this year as we (the Lions ) always enjoy playing you.

Looks like you might get out of that league Claw - you're going well. Same cannot be said of us at the moment. Going back to that programme I thought the bit about the entrants to the RM band was good as well. I'm going to check it out again because I missed the first bit.

4 Tide Class RFA's under construction in South Korea Claw. the first of the class due to enter service in September this year. Never thought I'd see the day when they were built out there.

Could not agree more Dean, its crazy, and think of the steel orders that could have been given to our steelworks, it makes no sense.

Jed Wallace is doing just fine, apparently he turned down some other clubs to go on loan as he preferred the Lions. Made man of the match recently.

Hope they paid you well as the fee was undisclosed.
