Sports Shield Statement To Bolton Fans...

Director of SS, Dean Holdsworth says, “This has been an incredible journey with many twists and turns but we have stayed in this because we believe in the future of Bolton Wanderers. To save this club is amazing, to be able to maintain it’s legacy, it’s great fans and it’s history. I have many friends in and around the club and i’m sure they will be very happy. I am honoured to be part of the club once again. A huge thanks are in order to Eddie Davies for his contributions to the club over many years.”

“We must also pay tribute to Phil Gartside, who sadly passed away recently. Phil started us on this project and we have delivered what he asked us to do.”

“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped us, business partners, legals (special note of thanks to DWF and Mishcon de Reya) and family. Without them we would not have achieved this, saving the football club has been our priority and we are delighted.”

“I must be clear that we’re still subject to Football League ratification,

Campo, did you directly copy/paste that statement from an official source? If so, I'm encouraged to see the new owners are actively looking to save money - in this instance by not employing a proof reader.

As soon as I read the details, I was immediately put on the back foot:

    1. ED is STILL here! - How much more does the bloody old parasite want from us?!!!

    2. There is NO guarantee of funding beyond the 2016/17 season.

I am worried all over again.

The Football League are seriously considering blocking the sale of the club.

One of the Sports Shield investorsd in the deal is rumoured to be filing for personal insolvency and there's the potentially tricky issue of whether or not Ken Anderson can be deemed a fit & proper person after he was banned from being a company director until three years ago for "questionable investment practices".

I wouldn't be at all surprised Campo; in fact, if it means starting with a clean slate, I'd welcome it, and rather the club was wound up and a decent owner come along and pick up the pieces - But please NOT the Supporters Trust - some of the faces behind that are NOT what we want or need!

I wonder if the Sports Shield deal was done with the best interests of the club first or Davies first,i smell a rat with Sports Shield i think Davies is behind it in some way so he can retain power of the club it seems funny that we had 50 bidders in to buy us but the only one ever considered was Sports Shield.

I think at best they are hand in glove with Davies, Campo.

Worse still, some emelements of the Supporters Trust are linked ot the present regime as well (bu tthey don't have any money, so they were always a non-starter.
But yes, plenty of poeple interested, I'm sure they weren't all just flying a kite.

It's not just power Campo, he wants more money. and no matter what the apologists say, he has already had it away with a LOT of money from this club, by way of over to the top interest payments to himself, and flogging off our prime development land - of which there was plenty!

Well today we got a final 14 days for the takeover to be finalized or we are definitley wound up. And that ladies and gents means the end of our club!

Now either ED is stalling and wants us to be wound up so he can cash in as largest creditor once HMRC have taken their unpaid taxes; which seems likely,

Or SportsShield are struggling too raise £7.5 million,, in which case we are in the **** - as there is no way they will be able to pay for the running fo the club, let alone invest in it if that is the case!

I'm not happy with any of this
