    I think that quite a few of that squad left with disappointment. The ones who got us to where we are, were soon given the heave ho to be replaced with some questionable signings. Never understood the logic of busting up a winning team just for the hell of it, when all it needed was a bit of tweeking here and there

    Yes, the same happened at S6 too. In truth, I don't really think either the Owls or the Millers were any better for it, and you can argue that all the camaraderie built up in their respective promotion seasons was lost. That promotion-winning team at Rotherham looked a unit, and the cohesion seemed to lost whenever I saw them thereafter at the New York. I guess managers panic, thinking that the exisiting players won't be good enough in a higher division. It's a team game, though.

    As pointed out by jolly-roger on another thread this quote aptly describes what is typical in 'management' in all walks of life, especially modern day business strategy.

    "We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning
    to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later
    in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing;
    and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress
    while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization."
