Released by Liverpool (First Team Appearances - 0) and recently signed for - Sacramento Republic, yeah them - third tier US giants.

Left Crewe to much derision and great fanfare - ought to have been the next big thing but elected to cash his chips early. If things had been different I reckon there's every chance he'd have made the jump to the Premiership after impressing for us - instead young Dan didn't need to wait, nor did he need to prove himself like some of those that have gone before. Ironically as it is, he's probably gone exactly the opposite way and back-to-front.

At least he did get his big move... albeit probably three/four years too early. Obviously old fashioned to climb the leagues as your career progresses, not when you can parachute your way down.

Hope he enjoyed his five-minutes at Liverpool (Reserves). I wonder if there's a lesson in there!?

I wonder what any of us would have done if Liverpool and Man City had been competing to sign us? Would we have said "no", particularly with parents and friends saying you would be mad to turn down such an opportunity? Shame it did not work out for him at Liverpool, and I hope that he attracts the attention of clubs in the higher divisions of the MLS.
