Just shows you can't trust so called medical 'experts' doesn't it..........
Whatever you want to call it...I have just been diagnosed after 2 years of dental disasters AND I actually had to tell the dentist the diagnosis myself!
4 failed root canals leading to 4 extractions, 2 years of pain, 2 dental implants costing £2800 each and my teeth were essentially normal and the pain was nerve pain!
Has anyone else on here suffered from this nightmare?
More likely to be the grumpy ones!

I always had you marked down as having ` nerves of steel `
A couple of points.....
1. Why didn`t you do a self diagnosis before you went to the dentist ?
2. The cash you have wasted could have been put towards another Med Cruise.......or......
two years supply of sensodyne, clove oil or turmeric.
Talking of Turmeric I`ve been using it for around 8months for my Arthritis after the usual anti-inflammatory`s failed to work.
I`m genuinely sorry for your 2yrs of pain, but just remember.......
It`s better to have a pain in the jaw than a pain in the @r5e........good luck with your next expensive visit to the dentist...
ever thought of trying the NHS ?
NHS won't do implants
Yes I realise the NHS don't do implants unless it's under special circumstances.
I was thinking more of the diagnosis, root canal treatment and the four extractions. Surely a person like yourself has Private Health Insurance to soften the blow of paying a wad of cash out.
Are you still in pain from your phantom tooth pain ( Atypical Odontalgia ) ?
Just a thought, if you ever need another implant why not try having it done in Cyprus, it's much cheaper than the UK and you could combine treatment with an holiday.
They also
do cheap implants in Mumbai, Croatia and Poland but that's another story for another day.
Thanks for your advice Frank but I've decided to have my other implant with the same dental surgeon who has great expertise in implant surgery.
I used to have private health insurance but after I had my hernias done they hiked up the premiums dramatically which I objected to.
Unfortunately extractions and implants don't actually help atypical tooth pain as the pain is simply referred to the implant.
It's a very interesting condition but very unpleasant although my increased pregabalin is helping a lot.
I try not to say why me? because it is what it is and I will have to live with it and some people on here have a lot worse as we have heard.
Thanks for the advice anyway Frank.
