On trial - for how long? The season starts in a few days time! When we released our previous TWO right backs, I assumed that we would have a ready replacement lined up..... but that was not the case. We are cutting it a bit fine. Anybody seen him play?

Yes. I have family connections with Liverpool and know quite a bit about him. Well thought of and at one stage seemed destined for first team. Gets forward well and can run all day. Good in the tackle. The PROBLEM is the dreaded "niggling injuries" which have blighted his career. If he's now injury free he would make a good addition but we will probably lose out to mighty Fleetwood where his brother plays. In Stubbs and Stewart we trust.

Just what we are used to (injuries) so that's him coming here then, we will sort him out

Millertop, another more technical problem is that RM's aggressive forward runs suits a team set up with wing backs or fast mobile central defenders. RUFC as set up at present seem vulnerable behind the full backs?

Monty we probably have not seen enough yet of how Stubbs will set up the team and what his tactical approach will be,early days yet,ok we do need a few more players in,but I would rather wait for the right players and not the wholesale approach of Evans.

All fair points. I just discerned a tactical weakness in our warm ups that we seemed vulnerable to pace behind the full backs.

I agree that Tom Thorpe did look vunerable and Kelly was switched to playing of his wrong foot, but I dont read much into friendlies, more frustrated like you about our shortage of troops ,but Stubbs has to sort that, afterall its his job on the line.

No chance of signing him if he hasn't got a chronic groin strain needing an op in September.
