    Today's programme

Go to congratulate the match programme v Ayr for its super content 90 per cent written by football book author iain McCartney - well researched articles and also thank goodness they have ditched that amateurish front cover from the first two home games and replaced it with a new retro look.

I rather liked the article "Jousting with Giants". These players were before my time although Willie Savage was still playing when I was first taken to Palmerston. However, before I was knee high to a grasshopper I could recite the (pre-war) promotion winning team of Smith, Savage and Culbert; Russell, Irvine and Jenkins; Anderson, Bell, Burt, McDonald, McCall.
