I don't advise anyone to follow my shares even though I know two of you have become rich by doing so.
I sold Avanti Communications right down and even though my final spread was cleaned out by a price jump.I have made a bundle and now finished with it and left some in for others.
A profit is not a profit until you take it and can disappear in a blink of an eyelid.
I told everyone about Gamma Communications months ago and it is going up and up.
Results are on the 6 th of September and I expect continued upward movement ahead of these likely very good results.
This company has everything you would look for in a company...increasing share price...good results year on year with increasing profits...money in the bank...dividends paid to shareholders and a great management team.
Why would you not buy shares in such a company?...I have no idea!
Hi Kempo. I am replying only because I would like you to heed these comments for your own wellbeing.
You quote Avanti Communications and I am glad you did well from your short. However, those shares soared by 120% from their lows as recent as the 3rd August and although you refer to “a price jump” and that "your final spread was wiped out by this", there is an inference in my mind that people should follow your advice. Arguably, my thoughts are built on by your claim regarding Gamma communications. It may well be that Gamma is a company that warrants further investigation but that is not my point. You say that you told people “months and months ago and it’s going up and up” “You expect continued upward price movement ahead of these likely good results”. You go on further. All of this could be construed as advice by the FCA and at the very least it might be construed as an attempt to “ramp” up the share price.
Usually, ill-informed innocent people jump into such things without doing their own research. Doing your own research is known by the abbreviation DYOR and I suggest at the very least you add these comments.
The fact that Gamma is an Aims listed company needs highlighting as these shares can often be illiquid, which means they are difficult or costly in terms of spread to get out of. I’m not suggesting this of Gamma but of any aims listed share and a person thinking of investing should learn more about this.
You say “ Gamma is going up and up” This is enticing to others with less knowledge of share dealing and especially those with a gambling spirit who may think they can turn a quick profit. Gamma has risen by about 20% in the last month which is great and it may continue but it might have been more transparent if you had also added that the share price today is actually lower than it was on the on 11th December 2015, only 8 months ago, as this gives a different “feel” to the share.
I only mention these things to you as I am FCA registered and know how seriously they take matters of advice and anyone who does not have the relevant FCA qualification for giving advice to the general public could feel the full weight of the FCA on their back. It is serious and heavy fines can be imposed.
It’s one thing having a joke and a laugh but reading your continual posts on Avanti and now Gamma has certainly led me to think you may be attempting to ramp up a share price and at the very least encourage others to follow your “implied” advice. Saying you are not giving advice and then encouraging people with some information is a very fine line …………… when does information become advice and what happens if one of your many followers gets burned?
I say “many followers” as I believe you have told me this …………….. Monty, Zilal and others. I may be incorrect of course.
Seriously though, it’s a little like reporting what players, managers and others have said on this board. If folk make it up they open themselves to an action against them. Offering investment advice withou the required permissions could have just as serious repercussions.
Perhaps you can continue to flutter your successes in the investment world before our eyes but always add the words “Do Your Own Research” and never cross the line between information and advice. Up to you, I only offer guidance and you may or may not take that on board. Source:Sharescope
