    O/T Old furniture,stools,chairs,tables,..or Antique items?

Just wondered if anyone has anything that they want to get shut of (not including the wife or kids).
I'm just trying to earn an extra few bob as i don't want to be driving lorries for the next 20 odd years..i LOVE reclamation/salvage yards and could spend all day there so i'm gonna have a go at making abit on the side..think Salvage hunters/American pickers and your about right.
    Cheers..Bri.

Good luck with that Bri - hope it works out better than the taxi driving

Too far away to be of any direct help I'm afraid but it certainly can pay. Over here people have garage sales and larger furniture items often get unsold so they leave them out with a 'Free' sign on for anyone to take. Just last week Mrs CA saw an old bookcase so chucked it in the back of the truck and a quick rub down, couple of coats of high white gloss later sold it for $200.

We often use freecycle.org to get rid of stuff we no longer need for free (you'd be surprised what people will take e.g. 46" projection TV that took 4 men to lift, 8'x4' bathroom mirror) and to get stuff that people give away, from chicken wire to plants to fence panels - you can see I use it mainly for the garden but people do give away furniture. Have a look on there as there is a Freecycle group for Rotherham and Humberside.

The taxi thing was a desperate move whilst i was out of work pal..this is something extra to my work for myself to build on..hopefully.
You get out of life what you put into it as they say...never tire of watching salvage hunters on tv.
Constantly think.."wish i could do that".

Bri….been to the actual American pickers store in Nashville…soon as you walk through the door there's an old Harley with a large sign on…'NOT FOR SALE'…..therefore you might be hanging on to one or two pieces yourself once you get the bug..

Can just imagine you touring the length and breadth of blighty with your own show…
