    Birmingham City Post Match Thoughts

Where's Cam with his post match thread?

We were on top in 2nd half and still lose by stupid mistakes by the sounds of it.

2nd half See an injury, subs, foul after foul but only 4 mins added time?

Can't say if it was a pen or not but the Ref couldn't wait by the sounds,he must have excellent eyesight

If you concede - nay, gift wrap - 3 to 4 goals on a regular basis, you will, in all likelihood, be relegated

If you can't afford the top strikers, then you've got to concentrate on defence. Saw's right. That doesn't just apply to the relegation threatened teams either. Boro's promotion was built on a rock-solid defence, rather than scintillating forward play. Rotherham are a better side than these results would suggest, so I don't think that relegation is a given. But if Stubbs stays then it's assured.

Thanks Les - agree with your choice some time back now - bring in the poor man's Warnock a.k.a. Stuart Gray - 'tis a mighty task to sort out this utter shambles of a defence - Xmas has been coming early for all of our opponents since August...

After an early flurry of posts, most of them started by half time, it's gone pretty quiet on here so I guess everyone is out having that drink (or two, or three.......)

Should I be starting the Alan Stubbs Post Managerial Thoughts thread now as I'll be in deep sleep if or when the inevitable happen in the morning

A tale of two halves. 1st half poor defensively, took us a while to get to grips with the aerial assault & battering ram style that Brum played.
First goal, Morrison a centre-back easily beat Stephen Kelly in the air at the back post & sent a looping header back over Camp.
Second goal, Fisher made the wrong decision & Cotterill sent over another good cross which Jutkiewicz scored with another header.
Maghoma ( he's scored & played well against us before ) scored a decent third goal.
Having got back into the game at 1-1 with a fine goal from Danny Ward I was hoping to get to halftime without conceding.

2nd half, much improved & a good goal from Jon Taylor to bring it to 3-2 that was on 56mins. From our second goal to the 75mins we had them there for the taking. Blackstock should have been brought on at 75mins not on 84mins.
We was at opposite end to penalty decision so can't comment too much although I thought Camp was a little slow in coming off his line....IMO.

Looking forward to the Reading game & Ipswich away.

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but the whole thing is a mess, left back sat on bench looks to be out favour,so we play our best right back out of position, our best central defender is injured again and his partner under Warnock cant get a look in.The best defensive midfielder we have is out on loan who when partnered with Frecks made our midfield guite solid.Brown is a luxury and would be ok if were mid table but we are scrapping for our survival and need that type of player aka Revel, but he aint here.Allways think one up the front doesnt work, far better to have Blackstock or the forgotten man Jerry Yates alongside Ward, who by the way looked completely fed up last night at the end of the game I keep asking the question is where is Belaid played one game and been here over a year.Come on Stubbs get things sorted, play people in the proper positions, lets start with two up front, what have we got to loose,it cant get any worse
