    Achievements part 1

Getting fed up of our Governments nit pickers having a go at them just for the sake of it. So here a list of what I think are their achievements

Record funding for Scotland’s NHS, with the overall health budget at £13 billion in 2016 – over £3.3 billion more than when the SNP first took office.
Free, high quality childcare is increased to 16 hours a week for all 3 and 4 year olds – up from 12.5 hours in 2007, extended to 2 year olds from low income households too.
Employment at its highest ever level. Latest figures, 2,636,000 people in work.
Pupils are achieving more than ever with a reformed curriculum, record exam passes and 93% of school leavers now going on to work, training or education.
Council Tax frozen saving the average Band D household £1,550 by April 2017.
1.3 million older and disabled people benefit from free public transport through the National Concessionary Bus Travel Scheme – now extended to help disabled veterans.
Target to build 30,000 affordable homes exceeded, with an investment of £1.7 billion.
Free tuition maintained, saving students up to £27,000 compared to England.
Jobs and businesses protected from recession by cutting business rates for almost 100,000 small and medium-sized businesses.
78,000 elderly benefit from access to a wide range of personal care without charge.
Recorded crime in Scotland has reached its lowest level in 41 years.
Free prescriptions protected, saving people with chronic conditions over £100 a year.
Road Equivalent Tariff rolled out to all ferry routes in the Clyde and Hebrides, cutting fares by around 40%.
178,000 low income households helped to buy essentials such as nappies, food and cookers through our Scottish Welfare Fund since it was established in 2013.
By keeping Scottish Water in public hands customers pay less for a better service – charges for the average household bill are £39 lower than in England and Wales.

And in the real world someone I know waited 4 months for a hospital appointment and now is in the third month waiting for another one. They could be dead before they see a specialist. My brother in law is a copper as is a friend who says the force is a complete mess with moral the lowest they have ever seen it. My mates ex wife is a primary school teacher who is totally p1ssed off with the snp's false promises eg classroom sizes.
It's very easy to copy and paste figures etc of so called achievements as you could do about the Labour Party, Lib Dems, Tories, Greens (no sorry that's taking it to far, the greens ) but in the real world we can see most of it is bullsh1t.
So live in the real world Stewarty and take your copy and paste sh1t and stick it where the sun doesn't shine

"very easy to copy and paste figures"

As easy as it is to pull singular examples to counteract an argument?

In percentage terms, how much has the SNP spent on increasing the NHS budget in relation to how much they received due to Barnett consequentials?

There is no requirement on any Scottish government to follow any increases on spending in England and Wales and apply that to the services they are required to deliver in Scotland. The Barnett Formula is used to calculate what is called the Scottish Block; as in a total amount from which the Scottish Government makes their own decisions regarding the funding to be allocated to the services required by the country. If they wanted they could spend the total received on Education only. It would be insane but it is up to the government of the day to decide. This is not a new thing as the same thing happened before devolution with the Scottish Secretary and Scottish ministers allocating amounts from the Scottish Block. Sorry, just had to offer this for accuracy.

Have they increased spending in percentage terms in line with increased funding due to RUK increased spending on the NHS?

Sorry I have no idea but they don't have to if they don't want to. However, as Scotland has a history of poor health duea number of factors I would be very surprised to read if the funding for NHS Scotland has not increased in real terms and percentage terms over the years. Nearly 50% (£12.9bn) of the Scottish Block funding made available for 2016-17 was allocated to NHS Scotland. Check from page 165 of the linked Expenditure plans (http://www.gov.scot/Resource/0049/00491140.pdf) which provides government spending figures from 2008-09 to 2016-17 over all the different services they oversee. Health is the number one line in the tables. I will leave it to you to find the equivalent document and tables for England and Wales. They have to publish this kind of document each year with the 2016-17 edition due out next month. I hope this is helpful.

    Ger

the 2016-2017 is already out well in draft form. http://www.gov.scot/Resource/0049/00491140.pdf. A quick shufty through it. Looks like the budget has increased 1.7 in real terms.. So front line services will be maintained at the very the very least. You've also got to remember these priorities are being delivered against the backdrop of the UK Government cutting
the Scottish Government’s fiscal DEL budget in real terms by 12.5 per cent between
    2010-11 and 2019-20.
