    Attendances

I see our attendances continue to fall and Falkirk and Kilmarnockat have over taken our average. Bad Day when St Johnstone will soon eclipse us.

Think the attendance averages are a bit unfair every other team in the league had at least one more home game against either of he old firm which boosted their average attendance figures

Aye, hardly an encouraging set of figures.

Thanks for the link to a site I hadn't seen before. It says our averages for the last 4 seasons have been (2014) 5,175, (2015) 4,268, (2016) 4,912 and (2017) 4,486.

Not a great read, really, though I'd expect us to bounce back a little next term.

I hope so - as another poster has implied, the raw figures need a bit more analysis. I always have a look at the attendances in the papers after the games, and I'm really surprised that Ross, for instance, have such a comparatively high average. In the Championship, I find, again based on what I read in the papers, the Hibs average of over 15 000 to be surprisingly high.
    Something else to debate!

If you factor in anther old firm gate of 8500 (optimistic) and substitute it for our lowest attendance it still only puts our average up to 4785 so the OF game is a bit of a smoke screen.

    I blame McGhee.

Now that he's gone I will be back. Add another 3 to the attendances.

The statistics would be more revealing if they concentrated solely on home attendances. This would strip out the distroting effect of visits from the Rangers and Celtic and fans of nearby clubs.

We also had only one home game against Aberdeen, an evening kick off two days before Christmas and the first Hearts game was on telly.

While our home support is declining, it is doing so very, very slowly...it's the decrease in away fans which has had the biggest visible affect more often than not.

This season reflects the overall trend but the lack of an OF game, poor fixtures v Hearts/Aberdeen, no Dundee United and that makes a modest decrease of 4% (around 200 people per game) turn into what we had.

We wont be the only club affected by those kind of scenarios bottom line is trend continues downward but I agree earlier comment would be interesting to see the table based on home fans only... we sit between 3000 / 3500 which is poor. Cant see where its possible to turn it around with the inability of all clubs to reverse the loss of away fans.
