Be alright for Burton's Pirelli Stadium seeing as they have 2 standing sections, one for away fans and one for the home fans.

Interesting to see that a leading Liverpool supporters group have voted about safe standing, with only 5% against it and 88% In favour of further discussion out of about 17,000 who voted.
Could this be removing a major obstacle in the way of implementing safe standing.
Although I wouldn't use it at home games every week, I would love to use it at the few away games I go to. But, that's down to feeling old and knackered.

Got a strong feeling of deja vu on this one. Surely makes sense doesn't it? Take the South Stand...everyone stands anyway and with the back of a seat in front of them at 'trip hazard' height...not entirely safely. No comparison between the shallow, crumbling, weed ridden terraces we used to stand on and the deep, smooth reinforced concrete 'steps' of today. Bring it on where the terraces - and barriers - are deemed fit...better atmosphere, improved ground capacity and cheaper tickets(?). Well maybe.

I was all for safe standing but just imagine if it where implemented and then there was another fatal accident, there would be more years of turmoil trying to find someone to blame. Lets forget it and move on.
Setting aside any dubious anti Liverpool/Hillsborough sentiment...weren't the two main contributors to that particular tragedy an absence of effective crowd control and the anti pitch invasion barriers which prevented 'escape' on to the pitch? The latter had been removed from all grounds within a week, neither had anything to do with 'safe standing' and stadia have changed out of all recognition since that horrible day anyway.
don't you think the current arrangement is far more dangerous? It's just a matter of when and not if we're going to have a major incident where hundreds of people are going to fall like dominoes in a big seating area. No barriers, just rows and rows of trip hazards. You couldn't design a terrace with a 10 inch high trip hazard on every steep step. You would be ridiculed, yet that's what 1,000s of fans are doing every game.
