Moncur can’t wait for next game

Midfielder George Moncur insists Barnsley will keep their feet firmly on the floor after the international break despite a turnaround in form.

You can take nothing for granted in the Championship, a league where anyone can beat anyone on their day.

The Reds have picked up seven points out of a possible nine, but will have their momentum halted by the break.

Twenty-four-year-old Moncur impressed on his return to the side and said: “We’ll keep our feet on the floor. A 2-0 win at home is great and we want to take that confidence in to the game after the break.

“It’s a shame there’s a break really. We’re all on a bit of a high and can’t wait for the next game.

“If you’re in good form you just want the games to keep coming. If we play how we did against Birmingham then there will be no problem in getting the points.”

It was a complete performance from the Reds. They were resolute at the back in keeping only their second clean sheet - and they scored twice.

And Moncur believes the Reds could have scored even more against their struggling opposition.

He added: “There were definitely chances for me and others in the team.

“I’m really happy with my own performance and the team’s.

“To get a clean sheet is pleasing and we want to carry that. We were better than them with and without the ball and we matched them in both departments.”

Good luck to the lad. He certainly has the talent and now he has acquired the proper attitude in his time at the club. I believe that if he keeps progressing and developing the way he is we could be looking at the next Conor Hourihane. I don't say that lightly either.

I think as a club we should be offering new terms to Moncur and Bradshaw. I liked the midfield three we used on saturday Pass. I was really impressed with Potts too It's a nice headache for Hecky to have because when I've seen Mcgeehan playing I think he is the complete midfielder. So that's testament to how well Potts is playing at the minute. Long may it continue

Kin el Steve, thee praise Potts? Did a read that reyt I think there's much more to come from our youngsters. At times you can see their naivety but with more experience and game time they'll get better. I think certain players suit certain opposition as was the case on Saturday. I can't see Hecky playing away at Norwich with that set up. I think McCarthy (he never gives the ball awaaay) will come in place of Moncur to sure things up in the middle.

We all questioned Bradshaw in pre season wondering if he could step up to the plate and I think he's answered many of our queries to be fair. However, there's still room for improvement In certain aspects of his game. We mentioned Yiadoms return coinciding with our mini good run but Lloyd Isgrove has made a telling contribution too in that respect.

Things are looking rosy at present, weve got 7 points from 9 and have scored some lovely well worked goals. The 1st goal on setdy was an excellent move as was Isgroves goal away at Burton. The players appear to be finding their feet. Good results obviously help too. What a shame this poxy international break has come.

I've watched that chance to make it 3-0 a few times Pass. He should have taken it first time. He only needed to side foot it in. That shows he isn't 100 per cent confident. However, that'll come with getting the odd goal here and there like he is doing.

I'll say this though Bradshaw needs to start every game. He's the best striker on the books.

It excites me thinking that this time last year we were looking at how many players we would lose in January and our form was relegation form after the transfer window.
This team unlike the last one is still growing and apart from Yids I can’t see anyone leaving so the form should improve as they get to know each other better?
Safe this season and go for it next season! You Redssssss
