    Isgrove out for a month

Lloyd Isgrove is expected to be out for up to a month with a knee injury which forced him to pull out of the Wales squad this week.

The 24-year-old winger had made an impressive return from a previous injury in the last three games, helping Barnsley to seven points and opening the scoring in the 4-2 win at Burton. He was named in the Wales squad but withdrew with swelling around his knee.

Head coach Paul Heckingbottom said: "It's a problem he's had for a while and it's swollen up again through general wear and tear. We will be without him for three or four weeks but the first week and a half will be in the international break. It's disappointing for us, and we will miss him, but even more so for Issy because he has only just come back. But we will work with him to get over this problem and make sure he can play regularly for us in the future."

The good news on the injury front is that Dimitri Cavare and Gary Gardner are both in full training, although the head coach says they will have to build their fitness up and impress in training before he will consider picking them.

While Isgrove has pulled out, his Reds team-mates Tom Bradshaw and Ryan Hedges are still in the Wales squad for their friendly matches in France tonight then at home to Panama on Tuesday. Harvey Barnes and Ike Ugbo are both in the England under 20s squad for their away game against Germany on Tuesday. Winger Barnes, 19, has four goals and four assists in ten league starts and three substitute appearances since signing on loan for the season from Leicester City. On-loan Chelsea striker Ugbo, 19, has scored once in 12 Reds matches and has been an unused substitute in three of the last five.
Midfielder Stevie Mallan – who is yet to play for the first team since his summer move from St Mirren but scored twice in the last under 23s match – is in the Scotland under 21s squad. They are due to host Latvia tonight and Ukraine on Tuesday.

Not having the best of luck since he came back and a real shame .

He adds balance to the team and you pretty much know what you are going to get with Lloyd .

Think he might end up needing an op with this injury if it keeps flaring up like this .

I'd like to see Mallan. Hopefully he won't do a Mowatt and get farmed out on loan before we have chance to see him fully fit in his correct position.
