    Pulis/Field

What on earth was he thinking not playing this lad?

The same reasoning that Liam O'Neill has gone from the club...another who looked good and would have possibly filled a midfield spot by now...

Field will play for England,he's already streets ahead of Livermore and if he's worthy of an England place then young Sam already is.

Managers like Pulis crucify young careers.

Not only will Field play for England,I suspect he'll be at a top six club or a European giant in months rather than years.

Best midfield prospect I've seen at Albion since Robson 43 years ago.

Another young player on the bench today, a lad called Melborne. Anyone remember his young brother Blake from the academy, he was one who tragically died at the age of 14

Spot on Mick. he is an Albion fan, maybe that will sway him to stay a bit longer.
I also look forward to Leko returning and showing his worth.

I missed the Newcastle game, and was surprised at the plaudits handed out to Sam, because he'd just gone through the motions in his earlier games under Pulis; he'd just pretty well occupy a space in the midfield (similar to Liversalts). Megson and Pardew have obviously recognised that he's a VERY GOOD PLAYER, and allowed him to play. Yesterday he looked a class act, and I bet he's delighted that Pulis has gone.

I think the difference between the Newcastle match (which I was at) and his earlier appearances that I had seen was that be for he looked a little overawed by been on the pitch. In his last 3 appearances he looked comfortable in his own skin, as though he felt like he belonged there (which he did!!).

I don't know whether that was down to TP's lack of faith in younger players or just getting game time under his belt, but something changed.
