    Player ratings vs Oxford City

Fitzsimons 6 Conceded twice but could do nothing with either

Tootle 6 Nothing magical but did the basics right but his throws are shocking, never finds a Notts player

Duffy 7 Steady game and chipped in with a goal

Brisley 6 Nothing out of the ordinary but ok

Dickinson 7.5 (motm) Always an outlet and battled well, some wayward passes but had a good game

Hawkridge 6 Very hit and miss, looks terrified to attack the left back but came up trumps in the end

Yates 7 Really got stuck in and had a decent game

Hewitt 7 same as Yates... did what he did well without overly impressing

Grant 6 Anonymous for most of the game and scored the winner... how many times has he done that this season

Stead 7 battled like a Trojan horse all day, falls around too much but never gave up

Alessandra 5 Brutal today... nothing came off for him and glad to see him hooked

    Subs
Forte 7 Excellent cameo from the big fella, had his chances and his excellent header created Grant's winner

Oxford City did their fans proud today.... they played some nice football and gave us a real scare... The Ox, Poku, Sinclair and McEachran are very decent players who would be worth keeping an eye on.

Thought Hawkridge was Notts best player by far

I really enjoyed that and I agree that Hawkridge was our best player and Alessandra our worst, but why do people rate the defence so highly? It really was shambolic at times. Players were allowed to make too much ground into the box before they were tackled, and then we had 5 players going for the same ball. Crosses need cutting out at source, and given that, I can't see our full backs as adequate for a top table team.

Fitzsimons 6 - poor fella, nowt to do apart from pick the ball out the net from deflected shots
Tootle 7 - Good, solid in defence and pushed on more in the second half
Brisley 5 - Went to ground too easily for their first. don't think he played well in general
Duffy 7 - Good. In the right place at the right time for his goal.
Dickinson 7 - Our best player in the first 20. Whoever telling him he's got a sweet left foot for set pieces should stop.
Hawkridge 9 - Loved what I saw. We've been needing players like him for years.
Yates 6 - Doesn't put a foot wrong, but could get on the ball more
Hewitt 6 - Tried hard, but he's still not convincing as a CMid. Might have done better cutting out the cross for their 2nd
Grant 7 - Came into the game finally and won the tie. Don't think LMid in a 4-4-2 gets the best out of him
Stead 6 - Usual Stead performance - countless lost possessions, occasional striking class. But always involved.
Allesandra 5 - Didn't enjoy seeing him play up front, looks lost most of the time

Sub Forte 7: Did well and put himself about in his short time on
