One of the most dangerous places in the world to watch football I'm led to believe , organised violence on tap , wouldnt go their if someone offered me to final tickets .

The choice of Russia is just plain stupid all about money and nothing about football.

The country has massive football related problems with racism, homophobia and violence plus there is the 'legacy' of the stadiums which FIFA claim to be a major factor in choosing the host country.

I have visitors this week from St Petersburg who are Zenit fans. They are very excited about having the World Cup but very unhappy about their new stadium. It has cost $1 billion + paid for by local taxes at the expense of other infrastucture jobs in the city. They will have a 60,000 seater stadium but have home crowds of 16,000. How atmospheric will their future matches be? This led me to have a look at Russian attendances and only one of the Moscow sides have over 20,000. The average is 11,000. Kalingrad where England play have average attendances of 3,500 for their brand new 40,000 seater stadium.

We/England should be ashamed of ourselves if we dont take this chance, and qualify from the group. (and what happens then in the knockout rounds is anybodys guess)
Panama are one of those banana skin teams who are making their WC debut, and if theres one team or group of individuals who can be accused of under achieving even more than us in tournaments, its Belgium.

As for who gets to host World cups now its getting ridiculous isnt it, and as bad as it might be in Russia next year thats surely nothing to the problems that face us in Qatar 4 years later.
