The wait is over.... Heckingbottom is the new Leeds Utd manager your thoughts and will he last?
Ok! then i will....
Heckingbottom has done a tremendous job with Barnsley on little budget since he was first appointed back in February 2016 and in that time he has guided the Tykes to the Johnstone Paint Trophy, promotion to the Championship and also guided them to their highest place
finish in the FL Championship for over 20yrs.
He is a young promising manager and one of the best in the Championship and I have to say that he has overachieved at Barnsley and needed to go to a bigger club to realise his full potential as a top manager in this division and hopefully he will get that at Leeds, if they give him time and get’s good results in and off the pitch.
How long will he last? Till half of next season tops if he doesn’t get them promoted and puts out poor performances and doesn’t get the best out of the players like Lasogga and Saiz but hopefully much longer then Monk and Christiansen that’s for sure.
Youre right, end of
Move on nothing to see here
Repetition is staggering.
Excellent signing he's been unbelievable for Barnsley its hard trying to manage a selling club As soon as you find a gem the board sell it players like Mawson Winnall Horihane have made the club millions I think he will be really good for Leeds but hope I'm wrong
Expectations at Barnsley and Leeds are different. You say he needs time.
But time is a precious commodity here in the Championship.
Then you say next half-season, how is going to achieve promotion in such a short space? You expect him to lead Leeds to the play-offs this season then?
Leeds are a bigger club then Barnsley of course the expectations are going to be different. Time is precious in the Championship of course and most managers don’t get it but we have been in that same situation and we are starting to get settled down and getting outstanding results under Rowett.
It’s a given time frame Romanis he will have a full season to try and get Leeds promoted next season of course but given how other managers at Leeds have been and gone, if he doesn’t see out good results in and off the pitch and the club doesn’t start settling down then he will only get half of next season at best before another manager comes in to take his place and try and get the team promoted.
I don't disagree but the point being that it's really up to the Leeds board. What do they expect of him? Surely not this season?
And so next season, are they prepared to leave him be if he's got them in a good place for the play-offs, or is that not enough? Do they demand that he be in a position like Derby, Villa and Cardiff this season, having a real go at autos?
The Leeds board is a bit strange. They want immediate results and don't tolerate bad runs.
