    Ward to mk dons

Elliot ward signs for mk dons on loan
A number of our fans are celebrating this like the lottery has come in for them
    Sad really
One and I quote "it's like kean out day"
Now he isn't a particularly good defender but he at least tries
I am sure ward is quite happy to have a clean break.

For sure, Ward is not as bad as some of them make out. He is the old-fashioned stopper with not much to offer in a creative sense.
To be honest, if you could sub in-and-out, like in basketball, I would have opted for him coming on every time we were defending from a set piece!
The move will probably be good for him, as at least the MKD "fans" won't be looking out for his errors to justify their pre-formed opinions.

No CB on the bench tonight. Strange decision to let him go.

Lenihan is back in full training now. Plus Bell's arrival means Williams can play CB. Don't forget Smallwood can play there aswell. Ward had his chance, and Mowbray didn't fancy him, or trust him. But financially it makes sense to let MK pay him for the rest of the season. Once Gladwin gets back fit, he will also be allowed to go on loan. Neither would play for our first team, and we have much better youngsters who could also fit in, which TM refers to blood, and give game time to. For me, it made sense.

More concerned with Wharton going out on loan but I guess he needs game time.

Bit of a calculated risk with Ward gone, but I suspect the performance of Williams at C.-B. in the last two games has reassured TM that he has the necessary cover.
