Sad to see that one of the few icons of British sport has died, recognised around the world for his sub 4 minute mile achievement. After a short athletic career he then went on to even greater things in the medical field. Always came across as a humble gentleman and fully deserving of his knighthood.

There's was a TV Movie in the late 80's about him called 'the 4 minute mile' might be able to find it on Netflix or whatever, where he wasn't portrayed in a very good light to be honest.
I'm sure he was a very decent man in real life. RIP.
