    Yesterdays game Morton

Just seen the goals on the zone.
For a change United had some movement in the box for a corner which led to our goal, great...

I am the biggest advocate of keeping two men forward at corners, free kicks etc near our box and a third close to the circle to stretch the game and create out balls, room, attacking options etc. However given the time of the game (90 mins +), even if we had left all 11 forward Morton would never have brought a single player back, therefore (sadly) on this occasion it is about mass defending.

None of the midfield either picked up the place the ball was going or followed the fun of the player. Moshni and Durnan should be holding prominent positions in the central area and the midfield and forwards should be well enough organised (and dare I say intelligent) enough to man mark and track every opponent. The scorer basically got a free run at the ball, ok, it was a fortunate glance but where were the men on the posts? who tried to punch it out? who tried to level the player? seems to me like it was defending in a hope the ball would be cleared, not defending to clear the ball.

This one is not down to solely Csaba but the infield crew. His cubbies and defensive mentality certainly don't help though.

I was at the game and it was frustrating to lose the goal so late on as i thought (for the first time in a long time) we actually put in a decent enough performance. we had some good chances that we should have scored with and they didnt have any clear cut chances (Apart from near the end) they looked dangerous from corners as we knew they would be but until the goal, we had defended corners brilliantly. i reckon we were probably too bothered about the big guys Lamie/O'ware that we took eye of the ball.

its typical united with the way the season has went but i saw positives in the performance. still dont think CL is the man to get us up but at least the performance was better than some of the rubbish weve watched in last few weeks

It does seem as if Csaba has the team motivated, we badly need some luck at the moment though.

According to the commentators Mohsni was outstanding and the best player on the park - so it's not all negative.

Hopefully his attitude of being a winner will rub off on the players - he hates being in a losing team and he could be the spur we need to lift the team.

Also, Morton's goal was almost the last touch of the ball before full time - United are just not getting any luck or breaks.

I have a feeling United will raise their game in the coming weeks.

A run of results is what we need to get ready for the play offs.

Picking up one point away from home is not great, but we never lost, we have 2 games in hand and I think we will go on winning run very soon - we are due a little bit of luck.

I wasn’t there yesterday however I am lead to believe the performance was much better. When your going through a tough time these kind of things happen but we need to take that performance into our double header against dumbarton, win these games comfortably and that might be the kick start for the rest of the season. In order for that to happen though shabba needs to stick with the same team (IMO) and make positive changes to kill these games (bringing on Fraser).

Definitely positive to have played better than Morton though so annoying we didn’t get 3 points. I wouldn’t stay rigid to same team but would think against Dumbarton we need to go for it. 2 up front and look to get a convincing win!

Apart from st Mirren we have got 3 matches against the part timers. Essential we get wins now
