    All-time local 11

You're gonna have to excuse my ignorance of locally born players as I'm going to do this totally off the top of me head without any Googling (doesn't mean you can't, though).

Who would make it into an all-star, locally born Newcastle team. I haven't included any mackems (as far as I'm aware ) for no other reason than I don't know anything about their players but I'm sure some of our older or more knowledgeable posters will be able to put me right.

So....help me fill in the blanks and make me look stupid as you put in obvious ones that I didn't know about.

    .........................................GK? (not a good start).......................

    Steve Watson..................Jack Charlton.............Steve Howey (ah, there's a mackem )............LB?

    ........................Waddle.................... ........Gazza...............Bobby Charlton...........

    ..............................................Bear dsley................................

    ..................................Shearer......... ......Milburn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Remember....this is born in the Toon (well, in and around...not being too precious about it) not played for the Toon.

    Manager: Keegan

Physio: Paul Ferris (ok, ok, dragging it out now)

    Doctor: only kidding...

Why not Steve Harper. I know born well inside Muckem territory but still well within range of the Toon.

With Harper in goal that would make a better England team than Southgate could call on.

Also going back further a top left back Sherwood may just remember, played with Jackie Milburn, Bobby Corbett, born in Newcastle played for us, then Boro then I think moved on to Northampton.
