Glad he has gone. Hope he develops but he has infinite improvement required to be an asset to us. I dont boo our players but its a weak looking excuse from him. Should have said nothing and try to let his football do the talking.

Smack in the face for fans like myself who dont get on his back and acceptingthat he goes on loan and develop after a difficult season for him here.

Would of been easy for a hell of alot more fans to boo him and call him garbage which currently he is without a shadow of doubt.

Has he gone all big time because hes scoring against dutch amateur league sides?

Think it was an interview before hes even played a game for them.

Basically saying its our fault he didn't run because the 'negativity' made him feel tried.

just proves to me he isn't cut out for Elland Road and is best off not coming back if you're going to blame the fans for being ****

Its an inconvenient truth for Gay Roy that you need to be thick skinned to play for Leeds. Who knows if he can toughen up but i think its fair to say he played like a complete fanny last season (on ice!)

You just need to put a shift in and look like you're arsed. Neither or which he ever did.

Anyone who's played any sport to a reasonable standard knows how much confidence means to a player.
When you don't have it even the simple things become difficult. When you do the difficult things become easy. And yes, it does drain you mentally and physically.
Every player is different and some need a kick up the arse while others need a arm round the shoulder and some encouragement.
Whilst it's easy and not wrong to say he needs to toughen up it's never that straightforward and our supporters are an embarrassment at times in the way they treat certain players.

Then he has the chance now in clogland to grow a pair and prove us all wrong.

Said a similar thing on the Viera thread - if we had had better coaches over the last few seasons, maybe some of our purchases or youth products would have developed quickly (or at all).

Last proper coach we had for developing players was Redfearn - players need managing and coaching to get the best out of them - that's where a manager earns his money - and our recent managers have not had much experience, or shown much aptitude, for getting the best out of players.

Hopefully Bielsa being famed for that will change that now. Think it's a shame Viera won't get the benefit, although i guess Bielsa has not seen enough in him to want to keep him, whilst seeing Phillips much more positively.

Never nice to see fans boo their own player and can only destroy the confidence of the player in question..lose lose situation.
