    Max Meyer - Free transfer

We're looking for a number 10. This guy is a former Germany international, who, after the recent world cup showing will probably be ushered back into the fold.

He usually plays in Shelvey's position but can also play the number 10 role. His goals ratio isn't great so not the idea as a shadow striker Esp if we are gonna sign the impotent Rondon.

Really we need a player who is as free scoring in the mould of Fat Frank Lampard used to be in that role for Chelski.

More chance of platting pish we'll find that kind of player but Meyer for free could appreciate in value and command a tidy resale fee in a season or two.

If we are gonna wheel and deal we need to pick up players who are gonna actually have a chance at increasing their value.

Crazy thing is when you consider the players Carr was suggestsing - Lacassette, Aubameyang, etc - at the time the Owner bottled signing them for 15-18 million, a few years later they were sold for 50-60 million.

Makes you wonder if he's playing money ball or Skyball down Clackton pier the sad sack of sh1te!

I think he's more of a defensive midfielder, Raga. Would be a great signing for us, but aren't bigger clubs on the lookout?

Fantastic replacement for Hayden if possible!

According to SSN - Liverpool, Spuds and Arsenal all interested but not so interested because of his wages. He's apparently been told he's the German Messi from a young age and come to believe that. Reason he's left is because Schalke wouldn't bow to his wage demands and doing more on the pitch, he also wants the same respect ex-players get and feels he's not getting it.

BBC linked him with those 3 plus Everton and West Ham (who are linked with almost every player though ).

His agent says he'd prefer to move to the prem and is hoping a top team there will match what he wants in wages.

Based all on the info on the web, think it's unlikely he'd want to come to us, or we'd pay the wages he seems to want.

Carr was a complete waste of a wage if Ash and charnley ignored his scouting (just as they are ignoring Rafa)
Rafa signed Lejeune last year as a back up option because the club wouldnt pay for McGuire. We could have quadrupled our money or had a devastating partnership of Harry and Lascelles.

Carr signed some dross. That can't be disputed. But you are spot on Mick.Didnt Carr pass on the names of Aubameyang before he went to Dortmund. Also did he not give the name of Lacazette.Another name that wasn't followed up.There is plenty of others but them names stand out as they have been bought by Arsenal down the line for massive transfer fees.
So basically it's a waste of time having any sort of football knowledge here. You just get ignored and tea boy and slug do what they want instead.

It's a no-win situation. If we'd signed both or either of Lacazette or Aubameyang they would have a) been sold after six or twelve months because they would have realized how much of a stepping stone this club is under Ashley or b) not become the players they are today because their manager would have been Kinnear or Pardew.

Even if they had stayed and had become the players they are today, Ashley would've made the team's development stagnate by not investing further. So no chance in hell we would have progressed in the long run, even with those signings.

Anyway, it's all hypothetical and we're stuck just like always with nothing exciting on the horizon. Lovely.
